Ebayer scriptchaser, any news on this seller???

This seller has alot of GEM Gretzky and Lemieux Rookies, and has sold quite a few of each. How in the heck do you get your hands on all those particular cards??? Anyone buy from him/her??? Legit or what??? Seems so, but all of those same cards keep popping up in his auctions.................

Only 9 negatives in over 5000 transactions. The negatives were all from the same buyer claiming scriptchaser was selling fake beanie babies........ or something.

Also, what are your takes on GEM Grading INC???????

Thanks,
Rob

GEM has a history of not being able to distinguish
real from counterfeit. They think everything is real
and everything is a GEM 10.

It is possible that a dealer can make an honest mistake and
sell a fake. BUT, it rarely happens. Someone who sells a fake
in one category, will likely do it another.

Forget not being able to. GEM doesn't care. IIRC they claim (after it was discovered by Tuff Stuff that they had slabbed a huge amount of counterfeits of certain cards) to only grade cardstock and not offer an opinion as to authenticity.

Just as PRO is the grader of choice for card doctors, GEM is one of the two graders of choice (Capitol is the other) of sellers of fakes.

  • Bought raw from scriptchaser, '81 winslow rookie. Let's just say that the card is undersized and shaped weird. Maybe it's factory but I don't really feel like buying from them/him/her again. Funny thing is I didn't even notice until reading this thread and remembering the name. Checked the card to be sure. So who knows?
