60's Topps cards

This was an eye opener. I'm putting my old 64 Topps cards in order just to see if I can put a set together regardless of condition. These are cards I bought when I was a kid.

Of course I got multiples of some cards.

Here's an example of the card quality back then. I have 6 of this card - wouldn't you think 1 of them would at least be centered??

    The guy who cut the cards for Topps started as an intern in the early 50s and was a lifer. I think he retired in the late 80s.

    Perhaps Stallard giving up the 61st HR to Roger Maris had something to do with this? image
