See below.......I have carried it everyday for years.....when it was given to me (by my mom....1975,on my 16th B-day) it was high AU......it is her birth year.....1939
met a older gentleman 2 weeks ago that comes in where I work....we got talking about coins..I showed him my "pocket" peice...and lo and behold he pulled out his...it was a solid disk of silver....nothing obverse or reverse to tell what it was...but I know from the size it was a silver dollar....he went on to tell me he had carried now for 51 years....he told me it is a 1928 Peace dollar, his birth year.
The 1964 quarter is my wife's birth year, the 1827 is mine
I love the sound of a pocket full of change, and people are fascinated by the different denominations they have never heard of....great conversation pieces as well.
My pocket piece was stolen with the rest of my previous collection. It was nothing more than a 1976 Ike that my grandfather had given me when I was like 5.
I need a new pic, maybe this weekend. The pic is from Sept of '06, the coin looks nothing like this now.
