picked up a 1 ounce silver round . one side has : 'minted from US strategic stockpile silver' .
Formerly stored at US assay office San Francisco 1981
Other side : One Troy Ounce, and Silver Trade Unit .
Is this anything special , or just another Ho Hum silver round?

to me, a neat curiosity. symbol of ... something. I dont know what
considering silver at the time off previous insane highs approx 50? selling at/under 13.. melted into digestable bullion for the savvy investory
hoping to catch a dead-cat metal bounce, ready to take it back to the 50s and beyond.... where it wouldnt' crest beyond 13 for the next 27+ years...
a lesson for the metal bugs who can't imagine a world with sub 900 gold and sub 16.90 silver...
just thinking out loud.
