I just read this story on Yahoo about the passing of a man that was a boy near the Rockne plane crash.

    It didn't say in the article but I believe Rockne was on his way to Hollywood to help in the making of a movie about Notre Dame's football program when the plane crashed. He stopped to visit his kids at school and the plane crashed shortly after that.
