1956 Topps - Trimmed Or Not?

I know this is a bad picture but I have none of these in my collection and can't tell if all are trimmed or if they are just short.

Opinions please.

Can you take some out of the binder and scan them? A lot of them look like they are missing a complete border on one side.

Tough to tell from the scans but a few of them look more than "short"

unless they're free I would pass on them. If they were nice the seller wouldn't be so lazy. They look like they were thrown into the pages in a hurry without any concern about condition.

Lazy or careless collector + lazy or careless seller = you can do better somewhere else. That seller might just send them to you in a PWA

there isn't one card in that page that isn't sliced down to size. They all have rounded corners too - so I suppoose some kid cut them up a while ago.

Looking over what the seller has sold in the past and how they word the titles and descriptions I would say they really don't have a clue. Most of their items didn't sell but when you really don't have a description of what you have it's hard for buyers to find them.

Price on the 56's would be 40 cards with shipping $27.00

    They also have these 58's

    image

Price on these 117 cards with shipping $54.00

    And also some 59's.

    image

    63 cards with shipping $37.00

58's and 59's look nice (well as far as the bad pictures show). Seller is answering my questions which is a good thing but I requested more and better pictures but so far no go.

Condition for my collecting needs are not that important (I don't mind creases ,tears ,worn condition) but a stack of trimmed cards wouldn't be any good unless like jimq112 said they were free (or really cheap).

Thanks for the comments as it really helps. image

The 58s ad 59s look OK, in fact the 59s look pretty darn good for the price.

I'll agree with the others on the 56s though...they look sliced.

Asked about the 58's and 59's as well so we will see if I get a response.

To bad that these 56's all appear to be trimmed. But without additional photos can't tell and don't want to risk it either.

I agree with the others here they do appear trimmed. But with that scan I can't really tell. Could be the obvious ones are miscut/OC? His prices seem really good.

Can't you email them and ask some questions?

    Steve,

I have been emailing and he/she has been responding so that's a good thing. I mentioned in my last one that I was concerned that these could be trimmed and that additional pictures would really help. Don't think they would even know if they were trimmed or not as to be 100% honest I really don't think the seller has a clue how to sell cards.

And although these could be a good deal (especially the 58' and 59's) money isn't growing on trees in this neck of the woods here in Maine (man it's been a cold winter) so I have to be really thrifty with my funds.

Looking at the top right card (Klu) that card appears to be trimmed.

those 8 pocket pages fit the larger sized cards well. That card leaves an awful amount of clear space.

    Good for you.

Yeah I'm leaning towards passing on those 56's. Shame.

Just sent off another email asking for pictures or numbers from the other two listings. Cross fingers and see what happens.

Waiting for the electrician to show up so guess this isn't that bad of a way of passing the time while waiting.

Before anyone starts flaming, it was my dad, born in Mass, who taught me this stereotype, and yes, he was um, "thrifty".
