Lightsider politely requests the assistance of the Dark side to identify a coin.

For the life of me, I have not been able out find any information about this coin. 1998 Netherlands 100 euro gold proof coin

I've googled, I've search Krause but can't find any info about it. (weight, compostition, etc.)

Any help would be much appreciated.

hmmm . . . can't find it anywhere. Perhaps it came out of a FDC set? Interesting.

The date says 1998. The first Euro coins for circulation were minted from 1999 on, Commems and gold coins only from 2002 on.
This could be a pattern or essai piece. Perhaps you could find it in Krause's unusual world coins.

Yep, it is X-148 in Unusual World Coins: 3.494 grams, .1030 of an ounce of gold, mintage of 3,000, listed at $150 when gold was at $430 at the 2005 time of publishing.
