This medal commemorates the centennial anniversary of the 1803 Lousianna Purchase tied in with the 1904 St. Louis World's fair.

Obverse has Ceres with sickle and wheat in hair with credit for the sculpt given to "Daniel Dupuis" near the rim (presumably for Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis although he died in 1899)
