  • That book is very interesting. Also gives a pretty good history of the card collecting hobby.

I guess even the sports card hobby has to have its own conspiracy theories, just like the JFK assasination. image

By posting old conspiracy theories which hold very little water, I assumed you wanted to get bammed.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Well, I think the term "trimmed" is a little harsh. That implies the card has been doctored with. "Sheet cut" is more appropriate and is really a debatable subject with opposing views.
  • I do not want to argue or debate, although on this forum it is nearly inevitable.

Read "The Card" and draw your own conclusions. I don't know of anyone that has heard all sides of it and didn't think it was cut post factory, nor any that really thought it made much difference at this point.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I agree with Anthony, does it really matter at this point? The card is sized right, is the holy grail and even if the stigma gets attached exactly how much should it be devalued? So much so any Joe could afford it?

It is what it is. Some could argue then it should be in an 'authentic' holder and they have a valid argument. The problem is at the time it was graded the decision to grade it numerically was made and that will not change. Do you really think any other grading compant would have done anything differently?

    Good for you.

No, But I think the other companies would have been ripped more on these boards had that been the case.
