Dec special poppage: Registry food... (NOW WITH PICS)

I got poppage today, very nice. However, there were 12 labeling errors, but I called them immediatly after I saw my sub pop and they're taking care of it. Anyways... 25 of these are for my registry sets, the others are for flipping or just adding to the stash...

I'm happy. 6 of the PSA 9s I got I really thought were easy 10s, so I don't know what I missed there. Then again, 3 cards in this bunch graded HIGHER than I expected.

Most of these are low dollar cards, but since no one submits them, I can't add them to my registry set, so I end up submitting them myself. Yes, the registry owns me.

I remembered the "Hammer". I had 100 count lots of
his 1990 UD card. That was a waste! SOB

Well, since he's a ROY winner (AL, 1994), he's got an immortal place on the Rookie of the Year set.

I probably paid more to have this card graded than it was ever worth when he was good. image

I doubt anyone wants to see a bunch of 9s, so I'll just put up the 10s (and a few 9s)... image

  • very cool... more proof rookie of the year does not mean future hall of famer!

also nice job on the Clark I remember lots of those from back in the day!

  • This is in no way offense to you, but 9's on the Charboneau and Hoyt??? That Charboneau's left/right doesn't look like 9 specs to me (but maybe I'm wrong) and the Hoyt looks miscut. Thoughts?

So true. So far, prior to 1990, about 13% of ROY winners ever went on to become HoFers.

Of the 86 total ROYs from before 1990, 11 have gone on to become HoFers (with Rose and McGwire waiting at the door).

The Charboneau is 60/40 exactly. The Hoyt, well, the tilt makes the card look more miscut than it is. I figured they'd be 8s at best.
