Quick Poll Re: MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA ...

A quick poll if I may. With the hindsight of 20/20 vision, in the history of MLB, NFL, NHL and the NBA, would would you take as the No. 1 draft pick ... given the objective of ... winning (which should be everyone's objective)? My choices are:

1. MLB - Babe Ruth ... but only if he pitched AND played outfield ... otherwise AROD or Willie Mays
2. NFL - Barry Sanders or Steve Young
3. NHL - Obvious answer would be Gretzky, but how about Roy ... as we know that a hot goalie can deliver the Stanley Cup.
4. NBA - Magic Johnson (over MJ, Kareem, Russell, Bird, etc.)

    MLB - not sure
    NFL - Tom Brady (what was he a 6th round draft choice? how come nobody knew.....?)
    NHL - Wayne Gretzky (can't really think of anyone else)
    NBA - Magic Johnson

    Ditto what Perkdog said. Arod, even though he is a whining dirtball, would be a close second in MLB.

    MLB-I would take Ruth, and would kick butt on all those teams that took Mays.
