<< <i>Why is there No Leroy Jordan or Mel Renfro in the 72 set? Both were stars of the Fabled Cowboys Doomsday defense of 1971. Both appeared in the 1970 and 1971 Topps sets. As well as the 73,74,75,76 Topps Sets. I wonder why they were ommitted from the 72 set? ANYBODY? >>
No Jerry Smith or Chris Hanburger, either. Lots of room was taken up by the Pro Action cards that probably would have been used for more individual players' main cards in other years.
It's a bit of a weird set, really, which only adds to it's great charm.
Jason I wouldn't even be able to make a guess as to how thousands Ive sunk into the hobby over the years. I find it Amazing that you have micro manged your collection to the point that you can even come up with a 74% return on your collection over 9 years. Hats off to ya! I can't remember what I paid for cards purchased last month, let alone over the past nine years.
I say you take some of the profit off the table now like any good stock trader would do. How much for that killer Unitas Rookie I saw on your wall? I'll take that one when your ready. If I ain't dead I'll still be blowing money on cards 20 years from now. Who knows maybe the the bottom will fall out of the card market by then and I can pick up the Unitas for .25 cents on the dollar. LOL Its all a crap shoot.
My wife told me if I buy one more Baseball card she was going to leave me..............................I sure am going to miss her.

I kinda had the same thought on the 1972 cards. Being a Cowboy guy, I didn't notice there was no Smith or Hanburger. Now Im kinda wondering what other players might be missing and why? I better start up a new thread posing this question rather than hijacking this discussion here.
Jason, Did you not have any thoughts on this mystery?
