Since i see that gold has broken the 900.00 mark, I have a piece of 14KT. That weigh's in at 27.5 grams. What would be the estimated value.

By my calculation $509, assuming $900 / oz

14kt is 14/24 by weight of pure gold so 27.5grams of 14kt is 16.04grams of .9999 or 0.566 oz of pure

But I don't know if you can expect equivalent pricing for 14kt as 24kt by the 14/24 ratio

I doubt you will get full melt spot price. I get $464.23 via:

I was assuming it was a chain or some other jewelry item. How do you know it is 14kt, or more importantly how could you prove to your local bullion dealer it is 14kt when you come to sell it

I know that it's 14 Kt. Because i smelted it from scrap 14 Kt. jewellry. As for testing it at my local pawn shop, Well they tried to rip me off thinking i must have been either hard up for cash, or a crackhead. The same pawn shop also tried to give me 35 dollars for 14 Morgan's.
Needless to say i no longer do business with them except for testing with Aqua Regia. This town is very small and there is no local bullion dealer, With the exception of rip-off artist's making a fast buck off of people that need the money. I would much rather trade for Pillar dollar's than cash, But then again, Cash work's too. That way i can pick and choose which date's i need. I feel that bartering or trading is my best route.

I suppose it really doesn't matter either way? It's still gold, So it is what it is....... ? I've had it this many year's, i suppose it will alway's hold it's value? And it's a cool pocket piece... And you never feel broke.
