Question about Ken Griffey Jr.

Hello. I have a question to ask of anyone who would like to respond. First, would you consider Ken Griffey Jr. a leader? If so, why would say he is? What leadership qualities does he have?

  • He is a leader by example. He gave his body up everytime to make the spectacular catch. It cost him some playing years because of his body breaking down and not being able to maintain that level of play. We will never know what his true stats should be due to injuries. AND NO STEROIDS !!!!!!!!!!! IMO he is one of the best players to ever play the game. The top 10 in my book as far as outfielders go.

    A true leader by example............

He is a veteran and most vets are the clubhouse leaders. Whether he wants to be or not he is a leader to most of the young guys on his team because he was the best player and the figure for baseball they watched growing up. Just like Dave said, the guy always plays hard and you never hear anything bad about him in the news or from fans. I know some board members have posted seeing him in public and him always smiling and being friendly. Without being in the clubhouse it is hard to say what his leadership is with the team on a game to game basis. But a guy who comes to work ready to give his all everyday and be a true professional really sets the bar for his teammates.

Everything he said. Plus, if I'm correct, didn't he take a lower-salaried contract to play in his hometown and w/ his dad's team?

While not a vocal guy, Griffey is a class act and leads by example. Stories like this don't get nearly enough publicity:

Reds players take care of child after grandfather collapses

  • class act, clubhouse leader, savvy veteran who still gives 100%

if not for injuries and lost time would have well over 700+ steroid free home runs.

Bonds is a piece of crap on Griffeys shoe.
