Sorta OT: Anyone Going To Be In Attendance At Super Bowl XLII

Just out of curiosity, anyone here going to Super Bowl XLII? It's a five (5) hour drive from here in SoCal to Arizona, e.g., could be a long turn-around trip. But no way, I'm shelling out $5K+ for two (2) tickets on ebay.

Don't cry. Your Bears are a lot closer to the Super Bowl than my 49ers.

I'd love to go, but am sure it is a $10k weekend including a good hotel, limos, party tickets, etc. If no corporate boondoggle is available, it is out of reach for most.

I usually go to Las Vegas Superbowl weekend and have a biggie for a grand or two (assuming no blackjack disasters).

For $10k, I'd prefer Miami or New Orleans. I'd bet quite a few go to vegas for Thur, Fri, Sat, and zip in (and out) for the game.

Although if anybody wants to trade 2 SB tickets for some great Cubs tickets I'd love to talk...

I live in Phoenix and the city is ramping up and will be ready. I am not planning on going to the game but tickets can be had, just too pricey for teams I am not a fan of.

I've got a package that includes all of the Friday afternoon Cubs home games and some weekday games - front row of the upper deck box right over 3rd base. Great for clients, but since my son & daughter were born, I don't go so much myself.

Those are some nice seats! My office has front row seats on the 3rd level at Miller Park directly behind home plate. Whenever we have a game that our sales staff can't find a client that is available to use the seats, they give the tickets to me since I'm the resident Brewers fan in the office. I can't complain...4 tickets behind the dish with parking...7 or 8 times a season!

I've been to a few Super Bowls and if you're in the area, I STRONGLY suggest checking out all of the festivities. Regardless if you go to the game or not.

Usually, they start setting up the week before; which would be next week.

Postitive there will be a MANY parties downtown but expect a +/- $75 cover charge.. The rest will be invite only. If you know someone in the "know", get some tickets from them. Those parties are wicked awesome image As for other open parties, for example in Houston, they closed off several blocks downtown.. Had a few acts, lots and lots of reasonably priced beer, and a great atmosphere.

If you have kids, take them to the NFL Experience. Mostly punt/pass/catch type of games but also a mini card show as well.

In conclusion, if the Super Bowl is in your area and you don't take advantage of what they bring, you will regret it, period.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
