Ebay Hot Brits!!

Wow, did anybody see the Centesles (sp?) sale of copper and silver?

1856 One Penny in Brand X Holder 3250 USD
1863 Florin in EF 40 (~VF) @ 1965 USD

These are big prices and were a bit shocking, what do you all think?

    Found it.

Looks like two bidders pushed it from ~ $2,000 up to the final $3,625.75

Once again I say, come ye crazy bidders when at last I sell.image

BTW, I'm still squinting, but I don't see an ounce of RED on that penny. image

Well, Mac, if you slab your own coins - you get to decide the grade image

centsles = NNC. With his reputation, I wouldn't be surprised if the coin is really AU.

Mac, thanks for the link. Uhh, maybe I will figure out how to do linking one day.

There were some NGC cert. coppers as well, some of which went reasonably. Hey maybe we can start our own cert service!

I believe it is a term for second year of ruler reign issued coins. image I'm sure somebody with a more definitive answer will confirm or correct my posting.

Correct answer! 1822 Crowns, for example, come with secundo or tertio varieties depending if the coin was struck in the second or third regnal year.
