Donruss Americana...

Okay, now that I've recovered from everything. Last week my wife purchased a box of this stuff for me for like $5.95. We are pretty sure now it was mismarked. But, I saw a box there today (Wal-Mart) for $9.99. Didn't get it, but thought I'd share this information incase anyone is interested.
I do not promote pack searching. You can't really search packs if you get a blaster box. But, one thing I did notice about the packs that had the memoribilia in them, they definitely were heavier when you hold them and they are packaged in such a way that you can definitely tell there's something in there.
Just thought I'd pass the information along. Looks like Donruss did a crappy job of trying to hide them in packs.

  • Hobby Boxes have the packs sealed in plastic cases and you either get an auto, memorabilia, or auto'd memorabilia per pack. I haven't heard of any great memorabilia pulls from Retail or Blaster Boxes either.
  • I pulled a Travolta personally worn shirt piece. Not very impressed at all. Even the common cards kinda stunk. But, I will say it was nice to have something to open.

I ripped two hobby packs of this junk at $40/pack. I pulled a Tippi Hedren dress piece #/500 and an unnumbered Shirley Jones dress piece.

If I recall correctly, my base cards included Stacy Kiebler, Mike Huckabee, Molly Shannon, Ultimate Warrior, Vince Neil & Richard Kiel

    Be happy with your Travolta!

Edited to add: I would've loved this cheesemo hit:

  • I can tell you the regular retail packs have a filler card in them, Picked up 2 that were obviously thicker. The one blaster I had had one pack that was noticibly thicker as well and it was memorbilia card. So I would assume these are like the Blasters of Donruss Threads and Absolute Memorbilia.
