Which silver to buy?

vplitevplite Posts: 1,385 ✭✭✭
I plan to buy some silver at a flea market tomorrow.

From past experience, I believe I will find approximately the following prices:

90% silver - about 11X face in $100 face quantities.

Lightly milk spotted silver eagles - $15.50 each.

Are dealers generally giving better prices on these bullion coins? I should be investing about $6K.

All input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

IF I had about 6k to spend, I would buy several Morgans in MS64 and above for my Registry

Otherwise, it sounds like you have a preety good plan in mind

I'd be buying name brand 100 ounce bars.

The best value for your money and best return if you decide to sell later on.

Name brand would be Englehard or Johnson and Matthey. Nothing else.

This will not be a numismatic purchase, only silver bullion. Unless, of course, I can steal some gold.

If I had $6000 I would buy a green monster box, than break it up and sell the rolls. Might even break open a couple of the rolls and sell them seperate.

Right now on APMEX the cost of a green monster is going for $8875.

That's for 2008 eagles just for the record.
