Still vacant Falcons head coaching position shows how unattractive a position it is

Nobody wants what looks like a major headache in rebuilding this team.

Yeah, but how long did it take Michigan to land their new coach, that took a while too.

  • .........and you would have the inside information on this? Maybe the Falcons aren't impressed with the people they've interviewed. Maybe they are waiting to talk with someone that's still in the playoffs. What's the rush? This football season is still going on.

Yep, I had a phone call with Robert Blank this afternoon and he told me how frustrated he is over the situation. image
  • At least get the name right........it's Arthur Blank, not Robert!
  • I'll do it... I'll email Blank my Madden resume.

I'll take the job if I get to play with the cheerleaders.
  • I think the problem with the Falcons is not their owner or the coaches, it's the players they put on the field. They get a few players that are all about themselves and place themselves as team leaders. Then you have the players that shouldn't even be on an NFL field. Then the players that seem to be unproductive as players, but seem to stick around year after year.

The Falcons have talent, they just need to find a way to use it. They used to blame the receivers when Vick was quarterback, but as soon as someone else took over, they were making plays all over the place. Sure, they still drop some passes, but what receiever doesn't. Retire Warrick Dunn, his days are done. Norwood could run circles around Dunn, but they don't play him enough. Draft a few offensive linemen and you instantly get better!

I watched the East vs West Shrine game last night and the announcers mentioned Dick Vermeil as someone who still wants to coach an NFL team. Now I suppose he'll be an instant candidate for all the open jobs this next week. That's how the media works!!!
