What are these coins?

Anyone know what these are?
approx. size of a half dollar.

They remind me of the old Venetian ducats “zecchino” .

That's obviously what they're supposed to do, but the legends make no sense. And what self-respecting mediaeval country would make bronze, silver and gold coins all the exact same size and design, using the exact same dies? It would have been too easy to plate low-value ones to pass them off as high-value ones.
