Zot's picture post has me wondering...

How do you guys get the pics of the obverse and reverse all into one picture? I'm stumped on that one. I've got a few that I would like to combine into one pic and get those together into an album.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!!

  • You can do it with the Paint program that comes with Windows.....Open both obverse and reverse....Highlight the reverse part you want to copy...then open the obverse. Click on the pic and look for the little dots on the edge of the pic...click on them with the mouse and expand the white area out large enough to hold the copied part...then paste and move to the open area...

I wrote an article on using Photoshop to do it - most image editing programs will be similar.

  • Millenium,

That's awesome. Hopefully here within the next couple of days I can get some pics taken and placed on photobucket.

    Thanks again,

I use MGI Photosuite (a creaky old Win95 program that came with my first scanner back in the late 90s). It's not as sophisticated as Photoshop, but I still use it because I am a creature of habit and a slow learner with some things.

As Steve mentioned, though, everybody should learn to use Paint, which is under the Windows accessories you can find in your Start menu. It is barebones simple, but useful. In fact, since MGI Photosuite lacks a feature to shrink or expand pictures by percentages, I still use the Paint "stretch/skew" command with most of my images that need resizing. (Like making stuff small for avatars or the signature line trophies for the forum awards, for example).

Play with Paint for a while, then when you are comfortable with that simple program, you can add more sophisticated photo editing software. (I need to do this myself, and move beyond MGI Photosuite one of these days).
