coins from the Smithsonian darkside collection?

If anyone wants some additional pics I took of Polish coins from the Smithsonian collection back in '04, please drop me a line at admin@second-republic.com or PM me with your e-mail address. Also, if you have any pics that were taken there of any darkside or liteside coins, please send them my way. I'd be much obliged to have them. I believe the Smithsonian has gotten rid of its darkside display.

JZrarities has also graciously offered to share some of his pics and receive any that others may have taken.

Interesting. I wish I would have had the opportunity to take it in. What would they have done with the darkside collection?

I think they still have it, but it's no longer on display (as far as I know - there was some discussion of this maybe 2 years ago). Apparently that particular Smithsonian museum is more interested in having displays like "Ballroom Gowns of the First Ladies" - they actually has this last time I was there - rather than a few rooms devoted to what is probably the world's best darkside numismatic collection. image

Which building was the numismatic collection in? Last time I hit the Smithsonian was probably over ten years ago.. though around twenty years ago I was in DC every weekend... just don't remember where it was...

The entire display (all coins) is gone... I helped take it down at the end of July, 2004. The collection is exceptional and vast, and far greater in size than was ever on display.
