707 sportscards have cheap prices

imageWhen compared to BMW sportscards they are cheap. I have actually bought a few cards from 707 for a reasonable price. If you look closely enough at 707's inventory there are a few decent prices and the service is excellent. Sometimes I'll look at BMW's inventory and the prices are crazy. There are many items that he could offer at 50% of his asking price and still would not sell because the prices are so high. Also, there will be items marked "sold" for years on the web site. I believe the reason that 707 is always such a hot topic is that they list and flood ebay on the listing special days. Just my 2 cents.

imageAlso, with 707, on my latest order Levi had reminded me of an order I placed about 5 years ago. This tells me he is very organized with his billing and inventory. He treated me like a repeat customer and immediately quoted a price at about 10% off the listed price. The card I just purchased was a 1964 #150 PSA 8 Mays. It has perfect centering and nice color and corners. Not an average 8. $250 and the shipping and everything was great. I will also add that Levi looked at a 55 Bowman Mantle "raw" from another dealer at a show for me about 10 years and told me it was good to go . I purchased the card for about $650 and received an 8 and the rest is history.

Nice to hear a positive comment about Levi for a change.
He is one of the best dealers in the hobby. He's always been willing to share his wealth of knowledge with other collectors too, which many other dealers will not. My buys/sells with him have always been excellent too.

I've had several dealings with Levi over the years. When putting together my first 55 Topps set, I met him at a Chicago show. At the time, I needed a Snider and Consolo in PSA 7. After talking with his partner Jim, we agreed on a price, but I was a bit short on cash. Levi HANDED ME THE CARDS and said "send me a check when you can". I will never forget this incredibly generous gesture on his part, all done on a handshake.

Regardless of Levi's flooding the market on 20 cent listing day, this is his livelihood and I suspect the prime source of his income. He is only doing what most businessmen would do, move inventory and bring his product to the attention of all as cheaply as possible.

I give Levi and Jim a HUGE thumbs up, truly a class act. Besides, he's the kinda guy you'd really wanna have in your corner if you ever got into a bar brawl. image Those that have met him know what I mean.

Levi...if you read this, many thanks again for your kindness to me those years ago in Chicago!!

I'm sure Levi is out to make a profit like everyone else, but selling cards being Levi's livelihood and prime source of income? I'm not no sure. At best, selling cards might be little more than a true hobby. What would you estimate is the total value of Levi's inventory? One hundred thousand dollars? One million dollars? Two million dollars? Five million dollars? Or even ten million dollars? I have no idea. But it would not be unreasonable to estimate that it is easily in the millions. And with that kind of inventory, is the ACTUAL selling of cards Levi's livelihood? I suppose the real question is how many of us can afford to have that kind of inventory "sit." Levi barely budges from his prices (WHICH IS FINE) and when he does, it's not by that much. So I'm guessing that he's not hurting for the sale, e.g., if I don't sell this card, I won't be protecting my livelihood or generating any income.
