I know you pain. I dropped off two (2) cards on December 14, 2007 at their PSA Public Fridays at the Santa Ana, California office on a ten (10) business day guarantee. Curiously, they "marked" my submission as received on December 19, 2007. Even assuming PSA "received" the cards on December 19, 2007, they're as of tomorrow, I think on their 17th business day. As such, it's January 15, 2008 and my cards still haven't "popped," much less actually receiving them.

2 cards?????? have you called??? that seems excessively slow
I sent in a order on the 17th.. signed for on the 20th.. but not logged til the 3rd.. but grades popped on 6th day..
on a 5 day... so it seems once it is logged it goes ok.. 17 days... something seems way wrong

I mailed a Dec. special (134 cards) on Dec. 31st, it was finally logged in as received on Jan 14th. I'm not sure when they actually got the package however.

Hopefully I'll see them before spring training starts in late Feb.

My last c.c. special sub. in Nov. took about 17 days to get graded.
I'm hoping I get the same fast service on this one.

prolly a flood for end of the year special, and the Jan 14th increase
  • Well....the guarentee is gone...now they won't be giving a voucher for every day your order is "overdue". The only thing that will be pushing orders through is good customer relations. I don't know if we will see a change? I've got two subs in. My bulk was logged 11/15/07 and my $13/5 was logged on 1/8. It looks like they will be going over on both subs?
  • good customer relations and PSA isn't that an oxymoron? If they start dragging their feet due to not having the guarantee they will soon see their market share slipping.

You would hope so.....but there are so many collectors that use PSA for Set registries or to make money via Ebay that I doubt they will see a significant decline in business.

Changing to an estimated turnaround time is very lame in my opinion. I love the new bulk breakdown though. Specials have never really been guaranteed, so not much of a change there.

I had 2 orders I sent in just before Christmas. First order arrived 12/18, checked in 12/21. No grades yet, didn't expect there would be. (Dec Special)
Second order arrived 12/26, emailed on 1/4 about status, no reply from customer service. Finally on 1/7 the order was checked in. Still no email from customer service about it, I guess checking it in was good enough. (renewal vouchers)

I believe they need more graders and are unable to find them. So yes, I believe they are swamped. Is that my problem? Do I keep paying fee increases and insurance/shipping increases every year? yes I do and I expect them to keep up as well.

My last 7 or 8 subs have taken an unusal amount of time to check in as well. I mark every side of the package with the service level in a contrasting marker. I used to get checked in same day, or next day. I have waited as long as 20 days this past year. I had a 45 day sub, hand delivered to them, take exactly 90 days (weekends inclued) to get back to me from the day I dropped it off. March 19 to June 19.
