I'm with Datentype on this one. Using that logic, the pop 1 Jefferson nickel is worth... what... about $25,000?? You tell me.
Hey - Griv's pop 1 $50 MS Gold Eagles would also then be worth about $100,000 each.

And there are over 90 in ms67 !!
But only one ms68....
OK, the MS68 is worth moon money.

Actually, thats the 1st Business Strike MS68 to be graded so yes. Moon Money regardless of the MEL!
However, with over 500 MEL's currently graded I think these prices are just "test the waters" prices.
Hopefully, nobody bites just yet!
The name is LEE!

Until recently the MS68 MEL Jefferson was stuck in all of the sets as an option for a Basic Circulation Strike.
I challenged PCGS on the fact is that the coin is one, not a mintmarked coin.
BJ, thought they were all assumed to be be Philly errors. I pointed out that Denver errors have occurred as well, but at this time PCGS is not ready to designate P or D on the MEL errors.
I was ready... As many of you are with the D Version ready for designation , IF it ever happens.
Fred Weinberg even made a big deal out of it and has sold many with letter of authenticity.
As for the lone MS68 Jefferson MEL Dollar.
I understand the present owner want 84K for it.
Any takers?
And I agree with you Mitch, that the MEL coins have a better shot at the MS68, than a lettered coin has.

When all the rimless Jefferson coins finally get graded by PCGS, there might be more than -1- MS68 coin - who knows how many. There are mulit-thousands of MS67 Jefferson non-error coins already. Jefferson is, by far, the easiest President to get in high grade.
