..or second best. There were two almost identical 1873 12 skillings from Norway in the recent Heritage auction and I got the cheaper one, only 4 times its Krause value. The buyer of the other example had the advantage of seeing both coins in hand before the auction, but he reassured me that they were both magnificent and tough to choose from.

The toning on that is superb.

OK, yeah, there is a faint trace of a fingerprint on the obverse, but that doesn't kill its monster eye appeal.

Nice grab, Dimitri. Your "impulses", expensive though they may be, are definitely the pinnacle of taste!
