The hunt is on. Churchill Crown

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,586 ✭✭✭✭✭
I see from the PCGS population report that ONE Churchill Crown has been graded MS65 with none higher. The highest grade from NGC is MS64. Although NGC's pop reports are way outdated. OK, who has the MS65? Speak up now. Don't make me submit a bunch of 1965 Crowns trying to make a 65.

Yeah, that was "the coin" - AT and ugly, in my opinion. Don, does that mean that 64 no longer tickles your fancy? image

NEN has a satin proof NGC SP65 (only 3-4 known) for a measly $3,950...

Roman, I love my '64' Churchill. I really appreciate the gift. I now have a coin to compare all other Churchill to.

Rob, 66? oh be still my beating heart.image

Dan, not interested in a SP coin. Looking for an MS65 or BETTER. Anyway, I'd be in a lot of pain if I went to Kelly and told her a bought a $3,900 coin that was minted in 1965. 1964 maybe, but not 1965.

Hey, 1965 was a good year! image

BTW, Don, you just won the Wildcard award for December '07 on the MD Forum.

    Here's your trophy.

John (goldrush00013) upgraded you to a proof, since we didn't have a picture of the actual find. image

Hi Don. While searching for other British coins I stumbled on this Churchill. The starting price was only.99p so I put a bid in for a bit of fun and won image . Do you think it has a shout at MS65? (Maybe I should throw it in a bucket of sulfur first) No pictures of the reverse yet, but the obverse seems somewhat scuff and scratch free.

I'm sure if you send a few to Mr. Paseo he can shoot a hole it in...
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
