Ok, WORLDLY people, what's up with this ebay auction (China Beijing 2008 Olympics)?

I have a friend who was in China last week. He said he picked up 2 sets of coins like this (I will wait and see them later in the week when he returns).
This is the auction link he sent me to show me what the coins are....

So, I look and the price seems low (even in AU$ converted to US$). Then I look at the SHIPPING!

Fee avoidance? Should the right price be about what the buy price+shipping price be?

I've heard these are limited mintage. Hard to get? Easy to get? Did my friend get "shanghied"?

Anyone know what the coins are made of?

Don't know about the coins but the shipping is outrageous. That's about US$106. Even at the most expensive rate, to ship a 1 lb package from the US to China cost about US$55.

Thanks...figured it was outrageous but trying to see if the combined amounts would be what the set was really worth.
My friend knows nothing about coins and I know nothing about these so I figured it was worth asking
