1846 Rouble opinions please... grades in***True View***

I just got it today and is still in the plastic. Pictures are a little dark.
I think it shows the proof like fields.
What do you think?

I would send it to either PCGS or NGC for grading if it looks as good in hand as in the images

I wonder what would differentiate a circulated proof from an unc in this series.

I see a few lines from an old cleaning.

I have to call in the morning to remind them.
I submitted a bunch of stuff at the Long Beach show and the orders got all messed up. I have had order cancellations and holds placed and then this shows up in my email tonight.

I wonder why they didn't designate proof like?

I have seen several of these and they do not all have this PL appearance.

pcgs will only use the PL identifier for a select number of coin types and it looks like this is not one of those types.

Thanks, I paid $350. I got lucky.
The last check I did on them they were running $1400-$2100

I paid something like ten or fifteen bucks for my 1846.

Of course, that was a while back, and it has a hole in it.

Check out the one for sale on Ebay. Granted its in a ms64 slab from across the way.But, I think mine has more eye appeal

Maybe I under estimated its value?

I am following that auction also. I will throw out a prediction of $2750.....the sliding dollar is helping these eastern european buyers quite a bit.

Well got my First True View EVER.... The picture looks great. It doesn't capture the proof like qualities but the colors...

btw, the Ebay auction for the other coin I mentioned above is at $1,975.00
I still think mine looks nicer.

Not bad for a $350 investment!

That is a great coin, and while I am no expert in the series, I think it is undergraded. Such wonderful originality.
