Help w/ experimental golden alloy planchets and 1999 State quarter dies

Can anyone tell me how to verify if a coin is actually one of the experimental golden alloy planchets? Besides submitting, is there any way to judge? I am trying to get better photos of the one I have.. I had not heard of these examples until I came across a story online about the FUN show.....any help is appreciated.

cool find indeed.
but, an accurate scale should tell you lots
<< <i>from 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock on the reverse rim it appears the gold has been worn off, exposing clad underneath. Leads me to believe that your piece was one of those gold plated pieces sold by QVC and HSN that was spent. >>
yeah ,that could be ..the coin has some wear to it but nothing is too exposed and the devices arent over-clogged or whatever takes place when plated..I'm no expert but thats why I'm looking for answers....I will try to get it weighed in the next day or so to be sure.
Experimental Delaware quarter, PCGS graded
WOW.. I actually really like the looks of it. It passes my "showstopper" muster for sure.
thanks for digging up this lil gem and posting this...
grab a cookie or 2
scan of both sides of the
coin, and I should be able
to tell you what you have.
Not to be negative, but the
odds are greatly against your
piece being one of those
experimental planchet strikes.
Let's see what it looks like,
and go from there.......

posts when I get to the office, but
before I have my coffee.
I never saw the earlier dates in the
thread....my bad........
...you're not alone, fred. a LOT of us were duped!

In any case, wow, cool coin. I hope to see one in the wild some day at a show!
