Sell at SMR or not????

Just a quick question about trying to sell some cards on these boards. Unfortuantely, I'm not talking about anything special, just some higher grade inexpensive cards that did not sell on Ebay. I'm open to anything just to get rid of some stuff and maybe help somebody with a registry set or something. For more modern 1977 - 1990's, do people usually ask SMR or maybe 50% SMR? Just looking for some guidance. I would probably list on the buy, sell boards right?

Not to offend, but go Cowboys!!

  • For the boards, I usually ask about 80% of SMR (of course it all depends on the card, some should sell at double SMR, or more)

For eBay, if you're doing a fixed price auction, do a buy it now @ SMR with a best offer. Again, some will sell for more, it depends on rarity, pop, etc..

    I hope this helps.

The SMR is too outdated. I would find recent actual sales to determine a value. ebay or vcp can be helpfull in this situation.

    Here's what you should do:

Look up your cards in the SMR and write their values down on a piece of paper. Then add all the values up with a calculator and write the total down on another piece of paper. Then take your SMR, both pieces of paper, and the calculator, put them in a big pile on the floor and light them on fire until all that's left are ashes. Then look up your cards on completed ebay auctions and use that as your guide.

  • Thanks for the advice.

What is the best way to clean up the ashes before my wife sees the mess?

tombo - sweep them under the rug. CDs is wrong on one point. DO NOT put the calculator in the fire. They make a nasty mess when they melt, and your wife may ask you where the calculator went. image
