Alaskan Bingles.

There was some interest in these from the other thread so I thought
I would post here to allow that thread to stay on topic.

The details and mintages are in the link below. What I thought was cool about this set was these tokens are a real part
of U.S.history. The homesteading of Palmer, Alaska was part of the "NEW DEAL". These tokens were issued by the govt.
and made legal tender. Then later de-monetised .(sic) All this from 1935-1938. Before Alaska became a state. I upgraded
a few of the coins in the set recently so the pics were removed automatically. Here is a photomerge of all the old coins I
made a while back. All the tokens are the same design front and back. There also seems to be no set orientation regarding
coin turn vs. medal turn.

Fascinating. Being low-mintage Lightside coins the prices are probably astronomical?

No they are not. They have only been listed in the Red Book for a couple years now.
I see raw lower denominations go for about $100 on e-bay. The set I just upgraded
my registry with I picked up raw at coinfest for $1,800. That is as high as I have seen
a complete set sell for. I paid this because I could see the coins were very nice.
I'm glad PCGS agreed. I expect to be able to leave the upgrades in my set and sell
the duplicte set, now graded for similar money.

Sounds like a great deal! I'll keep an eye out for these from now on.
