Fine, by American standards. Not even Fine, by British.

Not VF by either, IMHO. Close, maybe, but no cigar.

  • I'd say fine.

I think it misses the mark for VF

    I'll dissent and say VF

Edited to add this One from a Coin Shop is being sold as a Fine.

Weak VF but arguably a VF...

I still say F12 but would not strongly disagree with somebody who said F15.

It's not even close to VF unless it is an ebay auction (WOW! L@@K!!). By Brit standards, VG.

from what i've seen, if the 'Big 2' American TPGs were slabbing it, it would get an F15

Uggh, let's beat this post to death! This coin is in my opinion a piece of cr--. BTW, the Brits generally do NOT use VG as a grade. The appearance is quite poor overall & would be tempted to BB for ugliness.

That's your opinion. I like the coin. Sorry I can't afford only MS perfect coins.

OK, not a flame just an opinion. I do find it amusing that this coin has found so much commentary.

In fact a lot of money does not have to be spent on Jubilee or Old Head Crowns to have beautiful pieces. I have seen many very attractive worn and patinated pieces that are actually more attractive than overdipped and AT "Uncirculated" specimens.

The problem, again in my opinion and beauty being in the eye of the beholder, is that after the initial wear the coin sat and then was reemployed as a pocketpiece receiving secondary wear to the high points such as they are; I would like to see them retoned once again for aesthetic reasons.
