Help Please w/ unknown Basilea coin I found...

Hello - I have been a collector of coins for the past 30+ years. I am not a world coin buff at all. I found this basilea coin in a old cigar box. The box also contained 1800's morgan and 1920's peace silver dollars. I am not selling anything. I just need help with maybe the the year? The country? Maybe even the value? Should I be taking this coin to my safety deposit box?
Does anyone here know anything about this coin?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Tim

What does "KM122" mean?
Undated (1700)
Someone scratched on the top of the coin 1740. This coin could be 1740 or pre 1740?
What is this it worth in US Dollars?
Thank you again for the info.
Tim

Maybe I can find out more when I go there tomorrow. I never seen one of these before until today so I was clueless until you shared that info w/ me.
I will add this one to my bank safety deposit box.
I am curious what the value of the coin is?
$10 USD?
$100 USD?
I googled the coin and couldnt find it anywhere. I did find a 1740 Basilea coin that was selling at $850.00 but it is dated 1740 and it looks nothing like the coin I have

Thank you again for your help I really appreciate your info and your help!
Thank you

The Krause catalog will give you approximate values, as well. There's a great website to search historic auctions for coins, www.coinarchives.com/. Using that site I was able to find this lot, sold in 2005, thus identifying your coin. It's hard to price a pierced coin, as well. Perhaps someone else, more familiar with Swiss minors, can give you more insight.

It is listed with a value of 50 Swiss francs (~ $45) in S (schon) which is fine condition. The $45 value is without the hole. The holey man might be along shortly to advise the amount of monetary reduction because of the hole, but I'm guessing about 60-70% less, or maybe $15 max.
Oh yeah, it is listed as 1740 for the date.

You rang?
I would pay 15 bucks for that, cheerfully.
Usually you can figure a holed coin at 1/3 to 1/2 of its regular unholed value, or more if it is an especially high grade or scarce piece.
Some pieces, like klippe coins, are often found holed, so a hole detracts from their value a bit less. Some issues, particularly in the early Canadian tokens and Oregon's rare North West tokens of the early 1800s, are so commonly found holed that a hole probably detracts very little if any from their value. (Holes in these pieces are practically the norm, since they were used in the Indian fur trade, and the Indians liked them holed.)
Personally, I prefer dated pieces for my Holey Coin Vest collection, but I would make an exception in this case, because I really like that piece you have there.
I just put some coins up on the Weekly Swap, so if you see one of my unholed ones you'd like to trade your holey for, I'm game. Just PM me.
How big around is that piece, by the way? If it is half-dollar or larger size, it's probably worth a bit more than 15 bucks to me.
Edit- never mind- I can guesstimate how big a quarter-thaler is. I figure it's worth at least twenty bucks trade value to me, if you are so inclined.
