A message to Roger Clemens and ALL THE REST

softparadesoftparade Posts: 9,276 ✭✭✭✭✭
Blackball the liar from the HALL OF FAME just like all the rest. McGwire, Bonds, Palmerio, Sosa, etc. Every god damn one of them. BLACK BALL them .... not one of these cheaters should EVER make it to Cooperstown. My hope is that 123 years from now this era of cheating ba$$$tards will be vilified WORSE then they are even right now. I don't give a rats a$$ if this is not a fair "trial" Do away with them. The records will stand UNFORTUNATELY. The Hall Of Fame voters have a chance to do some great justice. Let the court of public opinion out weigh the horse crap notion of innocence until proven guilty. Forget the teams these clowns have played for. It is a problem that goes well beyond the major league clubs. The message needs to be sent that this crap WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

BLACK BALL ALL OF THEM FROM ANY HALL CONSIDERATION.

    what about the nfl?

they seem to get a free pass on this issue.

shawn merriman comes to mind last year 4 game suspension. swept under rug. rodney harrison same deal. congress was gonna attempt to go into nfl i think.. what happened? they never did.

dan i repect you but to single out these 4 or 5 guys is wrong. everyone has to face this.. 80% of mlb was taking something in the 90's at some point.

test every week and put this to rest. bc i think a lot of people are getting so tired of this issue is starting to ruin fan interest as bad as the strike in 94. i might not even buy the mlb package this year bc its all about hgh and roids.

I wonder about this question myself all the time and so I ask it to you. Would there be any hoopla over the steroids issue if NOT ONE SINGLE RECORD had been broken? Are we angry about steroids in a vacuum, e.g., using steroids is bad for you because of all the detrimental health effects. Or are we angry about steroids because the use of steroids has allegedly enabled players to break some of our most cherished/hallowed records? Think about it, how many of us were hoping that Bonds wouldn't break Aaron's record and that was all we cared about. Did any of us hope that Bonds would be suspended so that it would send the right message to America's youth that steroids are bad for you and you shouldn't use them.

Simply put, it appears that most people are only concerned about the rewards attributable to cheating, e.g. HOF, Records, instead of cheating itself. Need evidence? Is there ever any talk of the "minor" cheaters, e.g. the cheaters who took steroids TO GET INTO THE MAJORS or the cheaters who took steroids TO STAY IN THE MAJORS.

Let this ruin fan interest. I say GOOD .... LET IT HAPPEN. Tear down the sport, let it die. There is no doubt it will come back again .... sometime, someday, and at a honest professional level.

The NFL????? Good question Chris. Although that good question IN NO WAY should minimize the uprising happening now in baseball.

I am freaking MAD because I have 2 young sons who will grow up and maybe even love baseball. I am mad because my two young sons will never have a chance (not that that is even likely) with this CRAP going on.

Guys with young children are not even thinking about the question posed by JackWESQ ........... Guys with young children are WORRIED about their young children should they ever play the sport competitively

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

Nah, you are not catching my vibe. Thats cool. Most don't. I enjoy the game, let the game go on in its every day manor. I love baseball. My hope is that these guys will be BLACKBALLED from Cooperstown. B-L-A-C-K-B-A-L-L-E-D. EVERY ONE OF THEM who at this point seems Hall worthy. That will send a message ..... YES IT WILL. The evreyday game? I can't live without. It will go on ..... I do SINCERELEY HOPE that 100 plus years from now the game I grew up with and watched through adulthood and loved and still do love is LAUGHED AT and RIDICULED to no end for what has gone on .......

Not being a smartass, just trying to get a grip on why you are upset. I dont think anyone cares about Ron Villone or Nook Logan. Toss is a name like Clemens and the opinions seem quite different.

  • This has black eyed the sport but for every Clemens, Big Mac and Palmerio theres a Randy Johnson, Frank Thomas and Ken Griffey Jr who, at one time or another, have been the face of baseball.

What happens if a clubhouse attendant comes out tomorrow and says Griffey Jr juiced? Do we automatically kick him to the curb too?

I'm not saying Clemens or anyone else is innocent but before you blackball a man or ruin someones reputation proof positive would be nice.

    css,

The guys who are outed and will be outed should be kicked to the curb. Like last nights trash. I don't think dragging in the names of guys who are most probably clean benefits your arguement ... and just what arguement is it? If anything those guys (Griffey, Johnson, Big Hurt) will only be looked upon as guiding lights in a era chock full of cheats. I am talking about guys who HAVE BEEN OUTED. Where did I say or even hint that guys you mentioned should be licked to the curb?

Please do not twist my angle into something your mind has conjured up. I AM SAYING THE GUYS WHO HAVE BEEN OUTED should be BLACK BALLED. Forever and ever. I have NO IDEA why you would bring up guys who are not remotely suspected and intertwine them with the obvious cheats ..... whatever man ....

I hate to side with Clemens but he's got a point about being guilty until proven innocent. Do I think he did roids, yes. But it there 100% guaranteed proof? I don't think so. He's going to be forever linked with the Mitchell report whether he did it or not. Make no mistake I am not siding with Clemens, or any other the other alleged cheaters. But what's been proven?

JackWESQ, I would think the Union would be worried about the question of players taking other players jobs by taking this stuff. They are creating an unfair advantage and the real victims are the players who didn't do this stuff and couldn't make the majors during this time due to these guys juicing.

kuhlmann, those drugs are illegal and if you caught doing them it's jailtime (except pot and booze, well if you got glaucoma that is). Also last I checked those drugs didn't give you a competitive advantage over players not doing those drugs. MLB is supposedly going to crack down on ampethimines too, so let's see where that goes.

i just see alot more problems with other drugs that arent addressed. to me the sports media should educate more people on the dangers of those other drugs also. imo they are much worse then peds.

and i do think it could be addressed more in the sports media to help out with those types of drugs.

I think there is still a large portion of minor and major leaguers still roiding it up. HGH. So far there is no testing for that. There is money and fame on the line. Competitive advantage. Until atheletes are forced to give blood tests as well as urine, its going to continue.
