Retired Proof Halves Ready for New Homes

Selling was a hard decision. Hitting the Retire and Delete key was even harder. I made the mistake of deleting then trying to retire on my Franklins, so I added them back in and them deleted them. To all of the great collectors of half dollars.... rather you have a complete set or are just starting... plenty of great proof halves available now. Congrats to the collectors in #1 for each series.

Collections Assuming the Number One Position

#1 by themselves in Proof Liberty Seated (1839 - 1857) The Malibu Collection

#1 in Proof Liberty Seated (1858 - 1891) Virginian Collection

#1 in Proof Barber Driftwood Barber Half Collection

#1 in Proof Liberty Walking Gerald Forsyth Collection

#1 in Proof Kennedy Erasmus Hall Collection (good work Larry)

Ofcourse, the infamous and untouchable EBL III maintains the #1 spot for Franklin Halves with a set that may never be equaled. He also holds the only 1969 PR70DCAM Kennedy half, but Larry (Erasmus) has enough strong coins to hold the #1 slot.

I hope selling my coins will create opportunity for many collectors to upgrade, to begin, or just to find a deal on a coin that they can appreciate. I plan on taking the same zeal into the world of quarters.

Still a great set. Couldn't be retired in the complete proof haves section?

I could not retire the set because it was less than 90% complete... 88.7%. Oh well, it would have been very nice to have kept it in the mention box.


Ofcourse, Drzzt has a wonderful collection spanning many years that is now #1 in the "Complete Proof Halves" series. Best of luck to you in working towards completion. It's a long road that I just could not finish.

Well, the main part of the auction is over and many of my halves have found new homes. I appreciate your interest in them and hope they will bring you as much pleasure and curiousity as they did me.
