    Link

Not sure, but here's the link.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.
  • Not sure, looks similar to Milwaukee County Stadium, but that's a long shot guess I suppose. Hard to tell.

I agree Amigo, Yankee Stadium. Although an A.L. park, the photo is a composite. It certainly isn't Crosley Field.
  • Not County Stadium

That sure looks like the pre-remodel Yankee Stadium to me, too.

    Someone should ask mcholke.

I have noticed a LOT of cards from this time frame with that stadium background.

Since Topps was in NY, and with both leagues coming through to play the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and Giants, alot of the Topps cards from the 1950's to the 1970's were taken at Yankee or Shea Stadium, Ebbets Field or the Polo Grounds.
  • Now here is one that I always felt was taken at County Stadium in Milwaukee.

  • Kind of looks like Connie Mack, though it may be Yankee Stadium.

It's funny, because that's the shot Topps used for the Heritage Brooks Robinson card with a piece of GU seat from Memorial Stadium in Baltimore.

That definitely ain't Memorial. Brooks wouldn't have the gray uni on if it was.

    I think BWF is right.

Oakland had an embankment up at the top of the outfield bleachers then (they're largely enclosed now, to make Al Davis happy...or as close as he's likely to get.) Look at Jim Kaat's 76 card for comparison.

That Robinson card is definitely County Stadium. There are a ton of 70's and 80's cards "set" in County Stadium. Lots of '81 Donruss were taken there.

Even though I was a Bucks guy growing up there was something special about County Stadium. Miller Park is nice but it's just not the same.
  • I noticed that about the 1981 Donruss set, that the AL cards were either County or old Comisky, and almost ALL of the NL photos were from Wrigley.
