    Nice colection you have "sneaky"....
I really appreciate the beauty of the Lunar Series, particularly the 98 Tiger you have in the pic! I have collected the set since buying a few of the 2000 Dragons.

The pops above are from the pop report which has the FS and non FS coins together. The FS pop for each coin is just under 400. The 2006 W is about a $3000 coin due to the low number available to match up with the 2006 MS70 FS (pop over 3000). The 2007 PR70 FS will also need to find it's way into many of those sets. I think I'm selling them cheap at $1600. And the 2007 MS70FS has a population less then 1/3 the pop of the 2006 MS70 FS. To find FS and non FS pops visit the set registry.

Yes, I was the seller. I think my note earlier was a little too subtle.

Thanks Goldbully. I think you'll be very happy.

Anyone know the mintage of the 2007 bullion Buffalo?

I suspect it is a bit lower than the 2006.

    What am I missing?

    This is 55,000+ mintage coin.

    I know it's a popular design.

It's been for sale for a long time.

Compared to other moderns it's still a high mintage unit.

Does it have the USMC-2005 appeal?

    PCGS shows 90 - PR70 - 2007
    and 843 - PR70 - 2006

    numbers 149122 for 2006 and
    149583 for 2007.

Is there a secret place PCGS keeps the 'real' numbers ??

I just checked my CC account this morning and the mint has apparently charged my account already! Looks like I will in fact be receiving my 10 Proof American Buffalos. image

Now for the big question. Are they really sold out?

They are off temporarily due to volatility of the gold market, they will be back $50 higher.

I'd say because of the smaller sizes the melt is still over a grand and that's quite a bit of profit for the mint. The 1 ozers were just over $900.

I placed an order I think on Tuesday, they already charged my credit card, so I guess I am good to go? I purchased also one of those First strike on ebay for 1599. Now lets hope and pray that they stopped the production. I am thinking however that they just stopped to do a price adjustment. We will see what happens!

I believe this is no price adjustment, rather the end of the 2007 Buffalo Run.
On to the 2008's at $1000 something.......

Thanks for the update Jerry, I was not certain I bought from the same person. Looking forward to receiving the coin, this will be the most expensive one on my collection. I do have some paper dollars that might go for more than this coin, but I did not send them out yet to have them graded.

Does anyone know what the raw 2007 Proof Buffalos are currently bringing on the secondary market?

You could submit them again and possibly still get some 70's. Although if you don't that's a lot of fees.

so is there really going to be a fractional buffalo gold coin from the mint in 2008 or is this a myth?

What do you think about me selling a mint sealed box of ten if I do in fact receive them? Do you think there will be any market for that?

Given the collector/investors preference for pure gold coins and the increasing price of gold, I would say they are a definite possibility.

It would seem redundant given the increasing market value of gold to have a burnished 'W' AGE offering since the bullion coins are essentially the same thing.

I am ready for the Buffalo design to change as well. I bet the year after they do the fractional they will start something like the platinum program and start changing the designs.

Sounds like there is no premium over the issue price. Do you think I should cancell my order?

With the 20th anniversary sets marketed to collectors last year and the introduction of the pure gold Buffalo, along with the clear preference by collectors and investors for pure gold coins, the timing would be right to bring about changes to the AGE program to accomodate the chainging gold marketplace.

At this point I only expect a premium over melt. If Melt hits $900 then you will do OK. Also if you get some 70's it could help but otherwise the slabbed coins are selling close to raw.

But I wonder how many of these Buffalo coins being shipped right now, or in the next few days/weeks were returned? Do you really think there are still 70's out there?

Buffalos on the Platinum Seres? Hmmmm...Never mind.
Fractional Pure Gold would be a nice addition to the Buffalo Line-Up.

Apparently, if you check, a bit more than that will afford you you the Buffalo that other's are panicking to acquire.

This 2006 sold for $1026.50 - weren't there more made in 2006? I guess we don't know yet for sure?

    This 2007 already at $970

It is intriguing to see the pull of "$1,000" come to life!
If the 2006 is coming on strong,,, imagine the gravity-free ascension potential of the 2007 Buffalo.

Someone is probably hoping for a 70 after submitting on this one..

Miles, you say you like the Lunar series? I wish I pulled the trigger on a dragon when I bought that snake from APMEX, as they had the dragons in stock for under a grand. I will probably never own a dragon now. I just received that Tiger from CNI. A friend and I went in on four lunars when the spot dropped near $770. We got the lunars for $833 each. I bought the snake over the summer for $740. I can't hardly save fast enough to buy at these rising gold prices!

Just to continue the thought, a couple years ago all we had from the Mint was Gold Eagle Proofs.

    Now we have:
    Gold Buffalo's - maybe fractionals.
    AGE Proofs w/ fractionals.
    AGE Unc. w/fractionals.
    Spouse .9999 - 1/2 oz
$5 Gold Comm. seem to be back.

Plus there's Buffalo and AGE bullion.

Many more gold options than Silver or Platinum now a days.
