NEW PSA Service FEES

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but the new BULK prices I think are very favorable, that is,
if they accept ANY bulk combined from any year. I did not see any year stipulations in there.

If that is the case, I think it is really good.

What about the rest of you?

Tony

I'm all for it. I never understood why you had to split the submission based on decade. If the cards are in the same value range, why not combine them to streamline the process and reduce shipping costs?

My concern is specialty - aren't there graders that specialize in N cards and don't know squat about modern or recent vintage? Although more costly, separating the bulks by type ensured these specialists got the right cards. Now what happens when they're all mixed together?

  • I've been thinking on the same lines Morrellman! I don't want a grader who is a specialist in modern cards looking at the vintage football I send in.. I hope PSA has put some thought into this so that the grading is CONSISTENT from month to month and year to year!! Seems as of late that their have been a lot of frustrated submitters who are getting grades at least 1 less than expected! I know that some whining is bound to happen on these boards but these complaints are coming from collectors who specialize in only a few years and know what to look for in their respective issues!!!

I just wish they would get rid of the membership requirement

  • Just for the record...we do not distribute cards to graders who are not qualified to render an opinion on them. In other words, a pre-war baseball card will NEVER go to a grader who is a modern card specialist.

There is no need for concern.

And when a PSA 5 resub becomes a 9? Which grader handles that?

don't know if this has been answered but can non sport be included with sport?? or do they still need to be separate????

Sport and non sport can be submitted together as long as they all qualify for that service level.

    Joe or Carol -

So do you anticipate orders containing both modern and vintage cards having slower turnaround times than orders with cards from one era? It sounds like you're saying that such orders would be split up in the grading room (vintage going to vintage graders and modern going to modern graders) - that's why I'm asking.

Same exact question I was going to ask.

BTW, Joe and Carol: thanks for participating in this thread. The new system creates good questions (like the one above) and your willingness to come onboard and answer them is greatly appreciated.

how about a bump from a 5 to a 10. by that 082 grader!!! My last order of 103 was 30% 10's. Dont see how 082 is a tough grader. btw i dont believe in the grader/number theroy.

  • the first 3 numbers does not designate a specific grader....old wives tale
  • I talk to them when I renewed my sub and it doesnt matter on the year.
