Detroit Lions fire Mike Martz

Mike Martz has been fired by the Lions along with several other assistant coaches.

Martz will be picked up fairly soon I'm sure by another team. As usual, Matt Millen's job looks safe with the Lions.image

    How in the heck does Matt Millen still have a job?

    Does he have comprimising photos of the owner or something?
    So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    They will get rid of Millen when the Knicks get rid of Isiah Thomas.

    History suggests that Martz may be a better OC than a head honcho.

    Glad to see him go... He was just way too friggin' pass-happy here. Detroit isn't a great running-team by any stretch, but they played pretty well in some games where they were more balanced. In the game where Detroit played KC, CBS showed there were 3-4 games this year when Detroit ran the ball less than 10 times. That's almost always going to cost you.

    And yes, Millen should have been gone LONG ago. What a stain. The Fords are not only running their company into the ground, but this organization as well. If this goes on for much longer, I suspect we'll be hearing a story about Millen being dragged out and beaten to death by some fans after a game.

    The Lions are one of the worse run NFL franchises and have been for many years.
