Free fanpacks

Thanks to a tip from a user on Topps, you can get free fanpacks with a request via email.

I sent away for the Dodgers and recieved cards, 2008 Calander, scheduele and a Dodger magazine.

Liking free stuff I emailed 30+ other teams.

So far the Padres say they need $20, a few teams had my email sent back unavailable and one team wasnt participating anymore. Unfortunately I didnt save the info on who doesnt participate anymore.

The Red Sox sent me this !!! dirt, pic and a Red Sox Nation braclet. I'll update my progress here.

I did this with a bunch of hockey teams a few years ago and had great luck. The Preds sent a crap load of stuff including a souviner hockey puck and blow up hockey stick. Some sent bunches of team postcards and one team sent a signed player photo.

I also did this with football teams and had limited success. The Giants sent a team photo from Eli's rookie year, the Eagles sent a program from the first game in the new stadium and the Seahawks sent a nice lot of items.

Thanks for the heads up 1989FleerBillRipkencollector! image

    More Updates.

Thank you for writing the San Diego Padres, expressing an interest in receiving an Official Padres Fan Pack. The club is delighted to have such a widespread fan base as we continue to receive thousands of requests like yours from fans nearby, across the nation and around the world.

We would be happy to send you an Official Padres Fan Pack. In return, we ask that you consider making a $20.00 donation to The Padres Foundation for Children for each fan pack requested. (Processing and handling are both included in the $20.00.) Each pack contains a number of great promotional items and additional information about the club.

To receive a Fan Pack, please send a check or money order made payable to The Padres Foundation for Children, along with mailing address to:

    San Diego Padres

    Attn: Official Padres Fan Pack

    100 Park Boulevard

    San Diego, California 92101

An important component of Padres’ baseball is a long-standing commitment to community philanthropy. In 1995, owner John Moores established The Padres Foundation, the organization’s charitable arm. The Foundation continues to meet the needs of children with specific emphases on education, recreation and health.

The funds received from all Fan Pack donations directly benefit the Padres Scholars Program (education), the Little Padres Parks Program (recreation), and a variety of children’s health, fitness and nutrition initiatives.

The Padres Foundation falls under the umbrella of The San Diego Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.

Thanks again for your interest in the Padres.

    Sincerely,

    Tim Katzman

The Brewers were quick to respond to my request as well! I requested a fanpack yesterday and it arrived today. I got Gameday program from their 6th homestand last year, a Corey Hart card from the Disabled American Vets set they handed out this year, a Bill Hall 5x7 photo they use on Autograph Fridays and a racing sausage refrigerator magnet. The first actual fan packs (the freakin PDF file from the Giants doesn't count/cheapskates) arrived this morning.

    Indians

Batter Up game program and a couple schedules.

    Brewers

Little magazine and a 5X7 high quality photo on very thin stock

    Magnet and card.

Guess I was bored enough to look up the mascot on the Brewers magnet.

It features Stosh, who is a polish sausage, which fans usually can “Polish.” At the bottom of the sixth inning at every home game of the Brewers the “Sausage Race” is held, a promotion for the Klement’s Sausage Company. There are five racing mascot sausages.

As a teacher, every year I write to all MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLS teams. Last year I wrote to every NCAA division I athletic department, as well.

Received posters, stickers, pictures, autographs, cards, bobbleheads, shirts, hats, rally towels, wristbands, balls, pucks, and a ton of game program and media guides ... I had to take one year off just to get rid of half the junk I had.

    Kids loved it.

Some colleges would actually send large BOXES of T-shirts. Pretty cool stuff.

Lots of the colleges sent autos of their head coaches. Most were personalized.

If you're interested, I'll post a few pics.
