I see that the "museum of sports history" has a ton of the #1 sets registered. Does anyone know anything about them? must be a bigwig in the hobby..to say the least. website? I would love to see their collection.

he does have a great collection, however most of his #1 sets are redudant, he has a top set and created many many subsets with the same cards...

most of the sets he is #1 in, he is the only registrant...

great stuff but a lot of smoke and mirrors.....
  • Jeremy (Footballcardstore) can give you the true scoop, but I understand that MOSH is a group of investors led by one guy that are intent on opening a museum. They have deep pockets and are aggressive buyers of hi quality cards. They are also big buyers of modern cards as well as vintage (especially football).
As for smoke and mirrors??? When you have a position in virtually every vintage football and basketball set, vintage oddball and regional sets, and #1-#3 in almost every modern football set (large or small), the only thing causing smoke is that cash they are burning through.

The big problem is that they keep their sets hidden. You can't see what cards or sets they have. They started doing this when other collectors would see what they needed and than would bid them up. I usually just wait to see what they have when SMR prints the registry winners.

  • Why would they make it private? Wouldn't you share with other collectors? Why list them on PSA, if your gona make it private? I don't get it! image

they make their sets private so they won't get the hell shilled out of them.

I agree. I enjoy my cards without actually taking them out of the box they are in just by looking at my online set. It's very enjoyable.

If they already have all cards in a set, why would they be bidding? Unless an upgrade, but I would assume it would be a difficult card to find and many others would also be bidding on it.

    What do you mean?

Are you talking about adding scans of the card? If so, then why not at least show the grades of each card? image

Editied to say: Never mind, I think I know what your talking about now LOL.

Jeremy at the Football Card Store used to do a lot for them in regards to buying/selling & trading their position. Their sets are hardly smoke and mirrors. Yes, there is some redundancy, but the cards they posess are among the finest in the hobby. John is the person I've talked to and they are in the process of starting some sports themed restaurants and displaying many of these cards there. They even talked about having a central catalog where you could put in any player/card/year and see it in it's PSA holder. Jeremy and John have both been awesome to work with and are very nice when dealing with you.

I know I'm jealous of the collection he's built up.

I have purchased from MOSH in the past and never had an issue.

Super fast and secure shipping. A+++++++++ eBay Seller!!one!!!!
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
