This is in the original box...I am trying to decide if I should slab them or leave them where they are....they look nice in hand.

Nice looking set, Dan. I like it in the box as is but if your intention is to create a Registry set then go for it.

I agree- I like 'em in the original box, but to each his own.

I'd turn ol' George under and display 'em reverse-up, though.

Maybe rotate 'em once every month or two to keep the toning even. If they have a nice enough "skin" on 'em the toning shouldn't change too much in normal room conditions, I wouldn't think.

Thanks for comments and suggestions. Rotate them like a tire to keep the bounce. I like that.image

The ugly plastic tombs won't fit in this presentation box... If you're a 'collector' then you won't need slabs.

I suggest that you should slab yours then you can give me the old case that you will no longer needimage

Ditto, leave it in case, but don't shake it up! Many of these have hairlines under the toning so for God's sake, do NOT clean or dip. I think modern home environments have changed a lot with regards to oxidants that affect coin surfaces so that even older coins with "skin" are vulnerable to new changes....

An example would be carpet adhesives and bonders, but there are many more.

I must respectfully disagree with several folks. I'd consider at least sticking them in DirectFit AirTites or slabbing them simply to avoid risking any future damage.

They're very nice coins, by the way.
