Does anyone use a scratch remover on slabs that works?

It is rather frustrating when one of your slabs gets scratched up. Does anyone use a scratch remover that works?

This coin is beautiful, but the scratched up slab ruins the look of the coin for me.

I've used this before on the viewfinder on my camera which worked very well. I'm out of it now.

  • I have heard good things about something called "Slab Renew"...but do not have any direct experience with it.
  • I have it. It works well. At least from my experiences, it won't take out any huge scratches, but it get's rid of scuffs and patches of smaller scratches.

Any search on the Boards will get you a plethora of solutions. I use Meguiars "Deep Crystal" auto polish . . . it is tremendous.

Any good convertible top clear window cleaner/renewer from your local auto parts store will do the job. (works good on slightly scratched cds and dvds too!.)

I can vouch for Slab Renew - it's a fantastic product and the gentleman who runs the company, Dave, is an extremely nice businessman and a collector himself. He has many ads on eBay regularly.

Meguiar's plast-x. I like it because there are no fumes and I can use it indoors. They all take a bit of work and deep scratches are painful to remove.
