Why would a 1909 NGC 64RD IHC be going for $1500 (No this is not a San Fran coin)

The only variety I know of for 1909 is the L over L variety, and I have never really see them draw much of a premium, what am I missing here?

Um . . . . it doesn't make sense. Auction or bidding error? This is about a $180-$200 coin I think.

  • could it be anything that is Lincoln and 1909, sellers, buyers, collectors and investors are putting a premium on them in anticipation for the run-up to 2009 and the anniversary of the Lincoln penny and the new penny being minted - seems kind of early for this, but who knows - it could get crazy.

Not even worth that much if it's a proof!
