I know I won't find out most truths on here but, how many do you really think there are?
I beleive shill bidding is fine to a certain extent. THe extent might I state is the rules on ebay is for sellers not to bid or family members, but how bout friends or collector clubs?
Furthermore, Why pay ebay fees for higher starting priced items, and why lose a coin to a experienced sniper or collector if you don't want to use the reserve mode? Comments Please!!

Trust me, Russ has ripped me for a few coins.
If somehow I do win at a ridiculously low price, we talk about it. Before I rip someone I'll give them the option to keep their item.
Call it what you will but I can't stand by and watch someone lose bigtime. I'm not talking about inexpensive items. I'm talking about huge losses that hurt.

I concur. I would be slightly upset to find out someone stiffed me for more money on an auction in such matter. Although, I do understand the reasoning behind it though.

100% of them. That's why they're buddies
I have added a few board members to my favorite sellers list. I often bid on their auctions---often knowing the price will not hold up---but happy in knowing it may help them at the end of the auction.
Auctions that get a few early bids do better, no doubt.

Same here!
<< <i>I've put starting bids on forum members items, that I didn't really want to buy. I don't concider it shilling, since I don't keep bidding. If I do really want an item I wont bid, I'll snipe. >>
This is true for me as well. I will sort of "shill" or bid up a friend's auction, but usually not more than two bids.
I prefer to call these "courtesy bids", and do not consider them really to be shilling, since if I win, I pay up, and the item changes hands.
Usually I'm bidding lowball anyway, so I'm happy to buy at the price I bid.
