When it comes to PCGS graded CBH's, why do I never see MS60 or MS61? Post 'em if you got 'em!

It just dawned on me tonight, these grades are a scarcity for PCGS when it comes to Busties.

I know they exist, as I checked the PCGS Pop Report for CBH"s.

I looked at Stack's, eBay, Teaparty, Yellow River, Northeast, etc....no could find.

Is it me or is there a reason for this??????? image

Becuase they reside in 58 and 62 holders

Don't know, but a similar situation exists for early date walkers from both services. They do not like to give out MS60 or 61 grades for some reason. I have several legit MS coins that came back AU58, with no rub, just marks and mediocre luster, among other examples I've dealt with.

You are correct in thinking these two grades are not often used by PCGS graders. This is the only one I have. I know it was graded prior to July 1993, so it could well grade higher today.

Thanks for the comment. I also have a PCGS 58 in the same Overton 115 marriage. It does not measure up well to the coin above.

I would guess that unabated gradeflation has squeezed the MS60 and MS61 grades into obsolescence.
