Subject is a tad mis-leading, you're right, Griv.

Send it to NGC and then post your grades. AFTER you know what they are.

PCGS of Course!
The seller must have walked that set over to PCGS with a 1 day turn around submission!
Sometimes, I wish I lived near PCGS just for such a thing!
The name is LEE!

Which weighs more:
one ounce of Platinum or one ounce of plastic with a label ?
it is a matter of the right label and plastic
making platinum worth more.
1. A created scarcity of an item
2. Assurance of grading
3. Assurance of the TPG
standing behind the grade
4. The plastic and the label engage human
nature, in its quest for the unique and special
and the desire to own same
5. The perception of value is often the very basis
upon which value is created. As an example is gold.
One can not eat it. Rather it just sits where you place
it and does absolutely nothing. Other then jewelery and
some exotic uses in the space program and electronics, it
is useless. However, it has stood the test of time over
thousands of years as a storehouse of value in times of chaos.
Diamonds are another example. It is a more common
item then its lofty pricing would indicate. A cartel and a sophisticated
advertising program for the past 100 years have created the impression
of value, desirability and rarity.. In fact, the synthetic diamonds are almost
as hard and as beautiful as the original. Why pay 5,000 dollars for the
genuine when for 100 dollars you can buy a quality synthetic.
One must always keep in mind, that human kind is indeed very strange
life forms when it pertains to perceived value ; An animal sees food and
a warm dry place to sleep as valuable while a human sees diamonds and gold
as valuable. In fact they will often steal and kill to obtain these things that actually
do nothing. Of course, bears don't do such things. We usually will lust over something
of real value like a jelly donute or a cute lady bear.

- can not eat it.. actually you can, although it has no nutritional value that i know of, you can eat all the Gold you want and it'll just pass right through your system, since it's non-reactive.. won't hurt you at all.. (might be kind of painful passing through, though.. so i'd suggest you stick to eating Gold DollErs not Double Eagles .. also used in Dentistry as inlays, onlays, in bridge work.. and crowns, because of its non-reactive nature, it has no taste, and doesn't react with saliva or stomach acid..
- does absolutely nothing.. well, two things with that.. it's a store of wealth.. hopefully, it appreciates in value, although unlike money in the bank in an Interest-bearing account, tangible physical Gold in your possession makes no Interest just sitting there, and gains you no profit unless / until you sell it for more than you paid for it.. also to most human beings back to the Ancient Egypshines.. whether as dust, nuggets, bars, coins, or King Tut's treasures.. it is a thing of beauty, (and, as in the case of "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre".. a thing of lust and obsession..) .. so it is pleasing to the eye and one's sense of beauty, so it has emotional value..
Gold is just very interesting stuff.. not just for its physical properties (density, malleability, non-reactive nature).. but for its emotional appeal.. were you stranded alone on a desert island or in the arctic waste, a ton of Gold would have basically NO value to you at all, other than being able to use it as a weighty object.. or as a tool for hammering things, if it was in bar form.. food would be your main concern.. a ton of food and fresh water would be FAR more valuable than a ton of Gold..
- John Wayne, "The Shootist" (1976.. his final film)..
is not an investment. At times it might even cost you money.
It is also true that it is used in dentistry and sometimes flakes
of it are used on pastry and in in beverages. It is also used as
gilt on coins, mosque domes, church art works and gold plate on eating utensils,
to gild the Lilly and to entice some sweet young thing.
It can even be used as a thread in some fabrics. However, the point of my comments
still remains unsullied . I will continue to stand by a hot dog venue like COSCO! $1.50
for a kosher super dog and a large drink.

The coins the mint sent to you are either 70s or they are not. Its up to you to decide which TPG is in a position to tell you that if you can't decide on your own. The smart submitter will send em to PCGS.
hope he got a few 70's out of the xxx sets he sent in....i do not know how many and i won't ask.
