During what years was the last $3 gold promotion held?

I was taking a look at the upcoming Stack's auction for the FUN show. In it is a bunch of $3 gold, most of which comprises the #1 NGC Registry set for these coins. The cataloger included the date and source where the owner purchased his $3 gold coins. It seems that the consignor focused on a few sources, and one or two in particular.
Does anyone know when the years when the last $3 gold promotion was held? I thought it was 2004-2006, which seems to be the time period where this consignor made most of his purchases. I was just curious because it is hard to keep track of which coins are promoted and which are held at bay until the time is ripe for a promotion.
