<< <i>Looks like super color and lustre. Much nicer than my 1919 above. >>
Lee, I appreciate your comments. I do very much like your 1919 as it has a super look to it. It does have nice color and a very good strike, which is generally the norm for this issue. I do feel that both the 1919 and my 1909-VDB may have been worked, or 'helped' along a little bit which is why I 'copycatted' your post
As I said in the other thread, however uneloquent it may have sounded, there are two camps in this issue, those who feel they are OK as long as they are backed by a TPG, and those who do not feel they are OK. I don't like to see huge premiums being paid for them, I can tell you that. After all, we could eventually do it to all of the BN and RB coins and then what?

Sorry, since I don't go back to work till Wednesday, and it's New Years, I consider that a long weekend. I'm sure most folks have to work though. I'm counting my blessings!
Here is my woodgrain cent after a very brief dip in acetone. I think it will get more in the future; I don't believe I got all of the varnish off on that first pass. It is looking better though.

Not everyone's cup of tea presentation wise, but I like this coin quite a bit and the presentation is at least interesting. Shades (and only shades) of Spacemonkey and JapanJohn.

My two last purchased coins of 2007, Blue Toners are my downfall! At least I got them at
a reasonable price $9 for both. Mike.
Someday REAL American HERO's will be on our COINS.
